September 17

Today is the birthday of Gail Carson Levine, the author of Ella Enchanted and Fairest.

Both of these books are modern adaptations of fairy tales. Ella Enchanted is a retelling of Cinderella. Fairest is a retelling of Snow White.

Both books are available in the library media center, if you would like to check them out.

Book Club is Wednesday!

The library will kick off Book Club this Wednesday, September 18th, during lunch!

How Book Club works:

1. Bring your lunch with you to the library. I will provide a healthy dessert and a not-so-healthy dessert.

2. Talk about what you are reading for fun. We all don't read the same book! Book club works because it allows readers to connect with each other and suggest books.

3. Be prepared to meet new friends!

Please RSVP with Mrs. Rouleau or Mrs. Hall if you plan on attending.

What I'm Reading

On cold, rainy days like today, I would love to sit in the corner of the library and curl up with a good book.

Currently, I'm reading The House of Dead Maids by Clare B. Dunkle. Published in 2011, this ghost story is a prelude to Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights.

I recommend it to readers who like ghost stories or gothic novels.

What are you reading right now? Please leave a comment.
