Reminder: Alice B. Wilson Literary Awards Contest

The Alice B. Wilson Literary Awards Contest deadline is February 15th.

There are two divisions: Junior (Grades 6-9) and Senior (Grades 10-12). Categories are Fiction, Non-Fiction and Poetry.

This contest is open to all students who either live or attend school in Brighton. This means it is open to any Mercy student. More information can be found on the Brighton Library website: www.brightonlibrary.org

Monday, January 12th

The library media center received many new books last week.

Some new titles include:

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry - McGarry writes contemporary romance. She will be appearing at the Greater Rochester Teen Book Festival on Saturday, May 16th.

Diamond Boy by Michael Williams - When Patson's family moves to Marange region of Zimbabwe, he begins searching for blood diamonds, until government soldiers arrive and Patson is forced to journey to South Africa in search of his missing sister (description from library catalog).

The Fallen Kingdoms series- If you enjoy Game of Thrones, this series is for you! If you enjoy political intrigue, magic and drama, you will like this series geared toward a high school audience.

Keeper of the Lost Cities series- This middle school series features magic and adventure. Great read for fans of Harry Potter!
